My bikes

In this trip I’m about to start my three partners (non human) will be my van and my two bikes. I’ll spend the most of my time with them, and with their help I’ll discover the nicest places on the Pyrenees. Today I introduce you my enduro and downhill bikes.

My enduro bike is a Mondraker Foxy R 2008. It might don’t be the very latest bike in the market, but I tell you, it rides sooooo well. She has a XTR/XT group, Formula Oro brakes, Fox Float 36 forks and Fox DHX Air 4.0. I'm just missing a telescopic seat tube. After some years a bit apart of mountain biking and more into motorbiking, I came across this beauty and couldn’t help but purchase it. Since them mtb became my first priority when it goes to sport and I have lived many good experiences along with her. Such a hard summer is she facing.

For downhill I’ll be riding a Mongoose Boot R. This bike is a loan, my friend Esteban bought it three years ago and unfortunately he is not able to use it as much as he would like. A downhill bike is not exactly a polivalent thing, you just can use it to go down. This bike is awesome, it looks very nice and features Rock Shox Boxxer Race forks, Elixir R brakes, Sram X9… Along with her I’ll be visiting least six bikeparks all over the Pyrenees and she will be the one who will take my virginity, downhilling-wise I mean. In addition, if she is one of Chirs Akrigg’s five bikes, she must be a good one.

Project "Pyrenees/Summer/13// An Enduro and Downhill roadtrip"

Hi! My name is Eduardo Cos. I'm a Spanish documentalist and journalist specialized in motorcycling, passionate about mountains and outdoors sports in general. I'm especially keen about mountain biking, mainly enduro and downhill :-)

This summer I'll be driving my van East to West, up and down the Pyrenees. I'll take my two bikes with me and will try to ride as much trails and bikeparks as possible. Also I'll be researching about Enduro tracks, bikeparks, accomodations, restaurants, rentals and shops. I'll be taking pictures and videos and writing a Blog about my adventure.

In order to do a worthy and accurate work I’ll be chasing the local riders and businessmen and trying to recover as much information as possible. My goal is to have some articles and photos published in specialized magazines and webs and to publish a guide about how, where and why you should go to the Pyrenees to practice Enduro and Downhill.

So if you are a company or individual passionate about mountain biking and with any interest in helping me, please drop me some lines and let me know how could you do it. You can guide me, be my model for pics and videos, provide me with gears, spare parts or just show your support visiting my blog and Facebook Page and following me in this awesome trip I’m getting in. I hope you enjoy it.

Cheers and good trails!
